“Abigail Lapell may be the best folk artist you haven't yet discovered.”
Abigail Lapell sings haunting, gorgeous modern folk songs. The Toronto songwriter and multi-instrumentalist returns with her new album Anniversary, an evocative collection of original love songs.
Co-produced with Great Lake Swimmers’ Tony Dekker, the album was recorded at a 200-year-old church featuring Dekker's haunting sound and vocals on a few duets.
Lapell’s powerhouse vocals, piano, harmonica and signature fingerstyle guitar are complemented by a stellar ensemble, showcasing orchestral country-jazz arrangements, balancing upbeat earworms with elegiac ballads.
Joining her on stage is up-and-coming Canadian folk singer-songwriter Steph Cameron, presenting her new album Blood Moon, set to release in April 2025.
