UK-based singer-songwriter Ariádne unveils a bold new chapter in her musical journey with her debut EP, Traces, co-produced by Ed Allen. Formerly the powerhouse vocalist and founder of the nu-soul collective Mamilah, Ariádne’s solo project ventures into uncharted sonic territories, weaving together influences from Greek Rebetiko, Soul, R&B, Dub, and Dance Music. The result is an evocative and experimental soundscape that draws listeners into deeply personal explorations of connection and heritage.

Ariádne’s artistry is inspired by an eclectic range of global music legends, including Gal Costa, Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru, Joni Mitchell, and Nick Hakim. Her passion for music ignited early, shaped by icons like Ella Fitzgerald, Sam Cooke, and Nina Simone, whose timeless voices have fuelled her love for singing since the age of eight.

With Traces, Ariádne captures an immersive atmosphere, creating a sensory experience that places the listener at the core of her world. The EP is a reflection on the tactile moments of life—those fleeting, visceral interactions with people and the environment that leave indelible marks.

Ariádne’s journey began with Mamilah, a 7-piece nu-soul ensemble formed in 2017 at Leeds College of Music. The band’s critically acclaimed releases, including their debut EP Moonlight Walking, earned praise from Clash Magazine as trailblazers of Leeds’ underground jazz scene. Mamilah’s music found its way to BBC Introducing, with Alan Raw naming them one of his ‘ones to watch.’ This collaborative foundation set the stage for Ariádne’s evolution into a singular voice in contemporary music.
