BREXIT or no Brexit, deal or no deal – whatever the outcome of the tiresome fiasco, Scottish bluesmanDave Arcari and his Scandinavian counterpart Ismo Haavisto, from Finland, won’t be letting it scupper their plans for a series of Scottish shows together in late November.
The two musicians became firm friends after a they played a series of shows together in Finland earlier in the year. Plans were quickly put in place for Haavisto to make his Scottish debut as Arcari’s special guest at shows at Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh (Wednesday 27 November), Backstage at the Green Hotel, Kinross(Thursday 28 November), The Blue Lamp, Aberdeen (Friday 29 November) and The Hug & Pint, Glasgow(Saturday 30 November).
Indeed, Arcari’s thoughts on the political climate are documented in his latest single Brexit Blues – a song, he says is nether pro-, nor anti-, Brexit adding: “...the song is more a reflection on the clusterf*ck around it.”
Arcari has just returned from his third USA tour of 2019 – a series of trips which have seen him cover the west – which included the summer launch of the ‘Dave Arcari signature model' guitar from California-based National Reso-Phonic Guitars, the mid-West and, on this latest jaunt, the east coast.
The signature guitar project began earlier in the year when Arcari made his California debut demonstrating instruments on National Reso-Phonic’s booth at the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants)Show in Anaheim as well as performing a string of dates in and around Los Angeles.
