Day Sleeper -

"In the heart of Leith, among remnants of factories and mills, Day Sleeper can be found hewing pop gems from slabs of sonic abrasion. The Edinburgh band’s debut EP ‘Everything There Is’, issued by Assai Records in 2024, effortlessly walked a blurred line between the lush pathos of The Blue Nile or Future Islands, and the warped adventurism of Animal Collective or Yo La Tengo.

Its forthcoming follow-up, ‘This House Won't Fold’ (released May 16), reaches into deeper and darker emotional and musical territory, from the gothic electronic sprawl of ‘Alabaster’ to the confessional, angular folk rock of lead single ‘Shorthand’ (featuring SAY-nominated singer-songwriter Annie Booth).

To celebrate the release of ‘This House Won’t Fold’, the band will be bringing their explosive live show to MacArts, with support from their friends Waverley and Hector Gannet.

Day Sleeper is Leo Bargery, Ryan Firth, Carron Miller, James Callaghan, Liam Dempsey and Edwin McLachlan."

Special Guests - Hector Gannet play a duo set in support, giving more outings to new material written for the forthcoming new album.
