Melodious, sultry, luminescent psychedelia sewn in the soils of Norwich, UK.
Since their emergence in 2019, Norwich’s FLORAL IMAGE have presented and exposed psychedelic rock with ferocity, articulacy, and a heliolatric, near-hedonistic sense of revelry. Amalgamating the pumping acid house grooves of the mid90’s with the spluttering drive of early 70’s psychedelic titans Hawkwind, as well as a wistful dash of brightness from modern Neo-psych acts like King Gizzard and Babe Rainbow, Floral find a luscious assonance in carefully measured chaos.
The band’s early demos were championed on BBC Introducing by both Huw Stephens and Jamz Supernova, featuring on the 2020 ‘Ones To Watch Show’ alongside Dry Cleaning and Porridge Radio. Following the release of their first singles, they have sold out shows across the country, including supporting Triptides, Flamingods and Glass Beams, where their sets have proven to spiral audiences into trancelike, whirl-pooling euphoria.
Preceding a sellout headline tour across the UK and Europe in May, the band released their debut EP ‘So Synthesised’ in April 2023 with singles ‘Babe & The Devil, ‘Gallipoli’ and ‘Voices’ supported by Under The Radar, Clash, EARMILK and DORK, as well as seeing radio play from BBC 6 Music’s Amy Lamé and Tom Robinson, John Kennedy on Radio X and Shell Zenner on Amazing Radio.
In Autumn 2023, Floral Image took their wild, critically-acclaimed live show across the country in celebration of a new double A-side release, ‘Chance/Feel Around You’, playing over 20 shows and selling out London’s Lexington.
