Based out of London, the band Jean Marlow's lead singer Izzy Getty writes music that speaks to the soul. Izzy pushes Jean Marlow's creative boundaries to a new independent platform. Ali Boyd-Brent is always adventurous and daring on guitar and keys throughout Jean Marlow’s sonic behaviour. Izzy Getty, who started the band, attended the Clive Davis Institute of Recording Music at
NYU before returning back to her native Britain in 2016. The artist is joined by Ali Boyd-Brent on guitar, who is also based out of the UK.
Izzy has focused on the development of her voice and the composition portrayed in the band's EP ‘Spin’, their singles, as well as their experimental portrayals with the producer Hot And Cold. Her inspirations are taken from different elements of soul, jazz, funk and soft rock, and formulated into indie-soul.
The band's music harnesses a personal connection with the listener due to their
sophisticated yet humble rhythms that create wonderfully rich environments where the listener has the space to experience different senses. Jean Marlow exhibits honesty, androgyny, femininity, vulnerability, and strength through their unique and personal sonic style.
