Take one member of Lau, one member of Flook, and two members of more bands than even they can remember, and you get KAN — a union of four of the finest, most influential, award-winning, in-demand artists of the 21st-century traditional music world.
The band’s sound melds the bold and beautiful flute virtuosity of Brian Finnegan with the expressive and daring fiddle deftness of Aidan O’Rourke, cemented by the organic and intuitive drumming of James Goodwin and the unfettered, playful guitar reinventions of Ian Stephenson.
Compelling and joyous to watch, KAN perform in an arc with no lead musician. A sight (and sound) to behold.
Support comes from Caamaño&Ameixeiras, a Galician duo linked to roots music and dance. Sabela Caamaño (Chromatic Accordion) and Antía Ameixeiras (Violin, Vocals) joined forces in 2018, and the pair have enjoyed an intense trajectory ever since, thanks to their personal and lively compositions.

Why do we have a restoration Levy?

Put very simply, our restoration levy is an additional charge added to your ticket price which is directly invested back into the venue. This money is used for critical maintenance, repairs, and preservation efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the building.

As the 3rd oldest church building in Glasgow, dating back to 1836, Saint Luke's requires ongoing care and special restoration to maintain its historic character and facilities. This levy will enable us to fund essential projects that will safeguard the venue's future as a vibrant hub for live music and community events.

If you would like to be kept up to date on progress with how we are using this fund then please follow us on social media @stlukesglasgow, and sign up to our mailing list where we will send out quarterly updates on the improvements that your donations are helping us make.
