Since 1978, Oysterband has been on a modern folk music odyssey, visiting no fewer than 35 countries while pitching up at festivals, concerts, bars, rallies, and even jails. In that time, they’ve released 13 studio albums and won 5 BBC Folk Awards — but all journeys must come to an end.
The band, consisting of founder members John Jones (Vocals, Melodeon), Alan Prosser (Guitars, Vocals), and Ian Telfer (Violin, Keyboard, Vocals) with Dil Davies (Drums), Al Scott (Bass Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals), and Adrian Oxaal (Cello, Guitar, Vocals), bring the curtain down on their time as a touring act with a farewell performance at Celtic Connections.
Expect intense, rocking British folk music and no shortage of emotions as Oysterband
complete their Long, Long Goodbye tour at St Luke’s.
