Pistol Daisys
Fresh from supporting Callum Beatie on his UK Tour in December, the Pistol Daisys are back for their own co-headline show. They will be launching their new single 'Calling Your Name' on the 30th of April to coincide with the show, The Daisys will also be playing fan favourites Whisky and Wine, St Glasgow and Crying in Marseille.
The Painting
After a change in band members in June 2024, Arcade State rebranded itself as The Painting with a new line-up. Taking inspiration from bands such as The War On Drugs, The XCERTS, and Night Traveller, The Painting released their first EP since the rebrand ‘Everything Is Always Going Somewhere’ on the 4th of October 2024. The six-track alt-rock EP gained thousands of listens on Spotify and led the band to sell out a double show at The Hug and Pint in Glasgow.
Going forward, The Painting has already started work on a new album. They will continue to push their boundaries and experiment with new sounds to showcase a fresh, unexpected side of the band.
Brenda
Emerging Glasgow trio Brenda release their self-titled debut album with Last Night From Glasgow. Brenda are Litty Hughes on guitar, Apsi Witana on drums and Flore de Hoog on synths – with all three contributing to lyrics and vocals. They’ve created a name for themselves by gigging across Glasgow – their energetic sets described as the type that “end up seared onto your brain after a single viewing” with their “impudent, inventive and extremely DIY punk-pop” (The Scotsman). Although easily compared to the riot grrrls that came before them, it is clear that Brenda is content with being something totally unconventional. The combination of dreamy synths, witty lyrics and joint vocals is infectious. DIY ethos and unapologetic energy, Brenda could be your new favourite band.
Why do we have a restoration Levy?
Put very simply, our restoration levy is an additional charge added to your ticket price which is directly invested back into the venue. This money is used for critical maintenance, repairs, and preservation efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability of the building.
As the 3rd oldest church building in Glasgow, dating back to 1836, Saint Luke's requires ongoing care and special restoration to maintain its historic character and facilities. This levy will enable us to fund essential projects that will safeguard the venue's future as a vibrant hub for live music and community events.
If you would like to be kept up to date on progress with how we are using this fund then please follow us on social media @stlukesglasgow, and sign up to our mailing list where we will send out quarterly updates on the improvements that your donations are helping us make.
