“Terrific songs, strong vocals, potent guitar playing, lush arrangements, distinctive production” – Sounds and Colours
Latin Grammy-nominated artist, songwriter, composer and musician in his own right, Rogê, is considered to be a principal part of the Brazilian popular music scene revival (MPB).
With his soulful and funk-inflected samba style, carried by an acoustic guitar swing and a distinctive voice, he has played the stages of this world including festival appearances at We Out Here, Überjazz, Down The Rabbit Hole, and many more.
Having released 7 solo albums and 2 collaborations - with samba legend Arlindo Cruz (Na Veia, 2016) and Seu Jorge (Seu Jorge & Rogê, 2020) - he has reached international acclaim.
Now based in Los Angeles, he released Curyman and Curyman II, joyous, celebratory samba albums, bringing a message of redemption, resistance and resilience and deemed a “modern Brazilian masterpiece” by Gilles Peterson.
