SOUTH FOR WINTER: With a blend of dreamy acoustic duets, foot-stomping folk and bluesy murder ballads, New Zealand-formed and Nashville-based South for Winter’s sound is as eclectic as their origins. The band is composed of New Zealander Nick Stone and Coloradan Dani Cichon, and together the two multi-instrumentalists and songwriters combine elements such as finger-tapping guitar, mandolin, foot percussion, poetic lyricism, and haunting melodies into a genre-bending sound described by American Songwriter as “impeccable”.

"Laden with delicate harmonies, intricate guitar-work and earthy vocals...impeccable sound" - American Songwriter

“Must-see artist” - No Depression Magazine

"...An ethereal, dreamy, journey sharpened with an underlying aggressive blues-edge... A journey well-worth taking" - AmericanaUK

"...One day I stumbled upon a band called Fleet Foxes that would eventually change my whole outlook on music in general...[South for Winter] can be your Fleet Foxes" - For the Love of Bands

"South for Winter dances deftly from bluesy murder ballads to airy acoustic duets; from traditional stomp and holler to smooth jazz; from stripped-back instrumentals to heavily layered folk-rock; and everywhere in between" - Grateful Web

"In short, South for Winter has a new fan in me" - Tony Arata (songwriter of Garth Brooks' chart-topping song, "The Dance")

“...South for Winter's new album Of Sea and Sky is a hit!” - WKRN News Nashville

“[Of Sea and Sky is] …a genre-bending voyage through the depths of emotion and the vast expanse of the universe” - Grateful Web

“[South for Winter] have created an album that ebbs and flows beautifully and effortlessly, and is worth listening to over and over again” - Music.Net.NZ on South for Winter’s new record, Of Sea and Sky

"Eclectic in the best sense of the word" - VENTS Magazine

"South for Winter will warm your soul with their earthy vocals and delectable harmonies...the group shimmers and shines through a blend of folk, gypsy, jazz, and blues music, creating carefully crafted stories that draw listeners into their glowing depths" - Musical Notes Global

“From the macabre yet enchanting murder ballads to something outright hypnagogic…gripping vocals…[and] a rich sonic tapestry…a well-coordinated production” - A Song in Life

"South for Winter’s music is as cool and eclectic as their origins" - The Static Dive
