Strum & Blow is the contemporary New Orleans inspired duo of Louise Balkwill and George Simmonds. You may know Louise as the newest Puppini Sister, winner of Riga Jazz Stage 2022, or from the jazz media as one of the UK's finest exports of vocalese and vocal-led swing and bebop. In recent years, Louise has been working with trombonist and vocalist George Simmonds who fronts his own New Orleans funk group, The Squintet, as well as having played with the likes of The Big Smoke Family and Tankus the Henge. Together, they deliver tight vocal harmonies and blistering trombone and vocal solos over classic New Orleans jazz and blues songs.
