All of the way from Florence, Alabama, The Pine Hill Haints perform music they consider to be “dead” in the modern world, hence their self-proclaimed “Alabama Ghost Music.” So expect lashings of gospel, rockabilly, rock and roll, celtic music, blues music and bluegrass, played on fiddle, harmonica, tenor banjo, mandolin, saw, accordion and washtub bass.

While their catalog of songs comprises mainly original material, the band has also been known to cover traditional gospel (Where The Soul Of Man Never Dies, Where The Roses Never Fade), cowboy (I Ride An Old Paint, Back In The Saddle Again), and folk (Goodnight Irene, Oh! Suzanna/Camptown Races) songs.

The band is a must for fans of Johnny Cash, Dropkick Murphys, The Levellers, Carl Perkins, Flat & Scruggs, The Pogues and Frank Turner.

Playing alongside The ‘Haints is Leeds based and Barnsley born Serious Sam Barrett. This skateboarding, banjo wielding musician is a regular international touring partner of the band and grew up on a diet of Barnsley Folk Club regulars, such as Dave Burland. His rattle with the ghosts of Appalachian folk, and southern blues, traditional English folk and Yorkshire DIY Punk.
