The Mooches
The idea of The Mooches spawned out of the 2020 lockdown. We found ourselves collectively batting musical ideas back and forth at each other like a game of drunken ping pong across the internet.
Fast forward a year and our debut EP We are The Mooches has now been released, which we are buzzing about. We had the pleasure of working with Mat Allchin of Attawalpa at Off licence studios, the sessions were an absolute breeze.
The spirit, melodies and energy have been captured perfectly. We think it's the exactly what we were working with. The first rehearsals took place in south London and it instantly clicked. Those rough ideas, songs, ramblings all flew out of us and fused together to make what we now know as The Mooches sound.

The spirit, melodies and energy have been captured perfectly. We think it's the perfect introduction to our band!
Chris Leman
Chas writes and performs nostalgia driven pop songs, which are bound together with tales and observations from his proud working class London upbringing.
He has a musical lineage that stretches back to the Vaudevillian days of the Victorian music halls, the influence of which shines through strongly in his theatrical live performances. At the forefront of Chas' musical philosophy is to give escapism and pure entertainment to the listener. The generations of musical performers in his life have led him to the part punk, part Crooner, part baroque pop Psychedelian that he is today

The band's video for their song Waves, was released to great reception and the song itself has received airplay on a number of radio stations.
There is a feeling of huge potential to this band as they stomp a path through their musical journey.
This is great !
