2 years ago, in the middle of the first Covid lockdown, Transglobal Underground released ‘Walls Have Ears.’ The collective’s most soulful and funky release in many years, featuring members from right across its 30-year history, it was intended to be supported by a tour of the UK and Europe. Instead, the album instead came out to an emptier and more complex world. Despite that, by the standards of the time the album was a success; it found an audience, especially on Bandcamp, got regular radio play and excellent reviews. But something was missed in not being able to play the music to a live audience.
Now Transglobal Underground get the chance to rectify that with a tour of the UK and to mark their return to the live stage, presenting an album that sounds even more fresh and relevant in the current world than it did in 2020.
